Mistress Gaia does not trust people easily and when she noticed that this guy was cagey, she knew it was time to punish and humiliate him so that she would get to know the truth from him. The guy was shocked at her choice of punishment but he came clean to her and she realized that she was right as he was doing some suspicious things and he was spying on her.
This guy did not want to tell mistress Gaia what she wanted to know. She did not have the time to keep begging to talk to her and tell her the truth so she chose to do what she does best and she punished him. She teased him at first and as he smiled, she grabbed him and she choked him. That sent the fear of the Lord in him and he told her what she needed to know.
